The ANTI-HAUL: Sh*t I Won't Be Buying!

What is an "Anti-Haul" you ask? No, it is not a returning spree, which is initially what I thought it was.  Instead, it is a compilation of brand-new, just launched, [over]hyped products that I will not purchase for one reason or another.  I first heard of this "Anti-Haul" idea on YouTube (yes, I spend a lot of time binge-watching beauty channels... I won't even disclose how much so use your imagination) and I thought it would be PERFECT as a blog post.  So let's jump into it:

KKW Cream Contour and Highlight Kit ($48) - I watched probably ten videos of  Youtube Beauty Influencers reviewing these products, and while most said the contour product was nice, there was about 50 other reasons why no one should purchase these.  They are insanely small, the packaging is cheap, they are poorly-constructed, the highlighter is patchy /dry, the double ended brush is garbage, and most importantly, they are WAY overpriced for the amount of product you get. No thanks.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette ($54) - although the quality of this is significantly better than that of other Naked palettes and the colors are right up my alley, there are SO MANY warm palettes that have launched within the past 6 months (most of which I am now the proud owner of) so it just didn't seem necessary to add to my collection.

HudaBeauty 3D Highlighter Palette Summer Edition ($45) - I'm not sure if this is officially available for purchase yet but I already know, I won't be holding my breath for it to drop. I purchased one of the original HudaBeauty 3D Highlighter Palettes (you can read that review in full HERE) and while the product is beautiful, I wasn't drawn to the colors in the summer edition; I don't get excited over non-skintone colored highlighters.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Glimmer Palette ($)
- Again, this is not yet available for purchase at Sephora YET, but I am already positive that I'm not interested. I do not own the original Shade and Light, because I essentially had all the colors in single pan shadows, and for the same reason, I will not be purchasing the all-glimmer version.  However, I do want to give credit to Kat Von D for this creation because I LOVE the idea of having two sister palettes that compliment each other perfectly and had I not already owned these gorgeous neutrals, I would definitely be buying this glimmer palette and the original SO QUICK!

Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Lipstick ($36) - I LOVE HOURGLASS PRODUCTS! I have reviewed them about a billion times.  They have my favorite high-end bronzer, blush, and highlighter and they're all stunning...   So, now that we have gotten that out of the way, I am so CONFUSED by their latest launch: it is a lip product that comes in a dangerous, weapon-resembling container that is "refillable" ...*cue crickets* ... then why buy the crazy
harpoon contraption, if I can just buy the normal-looking lipstick... for $14 cheaper? I don't get it.  Maybe I missed the whole concept but like... I just do not get it. Hard pass for me.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Glow Palette ($40) - I like the price tag for the amount of product, it's a great deal, but just not the colors.  Purple, Blue, and Orange highlighters just
aren't high priorities for me.

Tweezerman x HudaBeauty Collection ($65)- I already own THE BEST pair of trimming scissors and tweezers from Tweezerman that I absolutely adore so owning another set seems superfluous.  I do like the packaging but I also think the price point is a little extreme, especially given that people are currently leaving 1-star reviews on Sephora.com saying that some of the products in the collection are cheap or poorly made. Ehhhh.... I'll be steering clear.

*DISCLAIMER: I'm not trying to be a Negative Nancy, just trying to keep it real.  If any of these are your favorite, ride-or-die products then I'm sorry. My goal is not to offend anyone, but to let you know where I stand with a few hyped-up products and why I'm choosing not to purchase these*
