Tuesday Review Day: Walmart vs. Target Beauty Boxes

If your response is, "WALMART AND TARGET HAVE SUBSCRIPTION BOXES?!" then you are experiencing the same shock and awe I did when I first heard this news from YouTubers, EleventhGorgeous! And the answer is YES, it is true! And they're only $5-7 EACH!

So naturally, I purchased both for the month of May and today I am here to review them! I will also tell you which one I think is better for the price! I mean, granted they're only $5-7 and it comes with more products than Ipsy or Birchbox, which are $10/month, so they're both worth the money! The downside is they sell out pretty quickly

First up is Target!

This month the box included:
Wet n Wild Liquid Cat Suit Lipstick in "Berry Recognize" - THE best liquid lipstick from the drug store and less than $5!

Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish - I'm so excited to try this product because I've heard amazing things about this brand and who doesn't love a good smelling body scrub?!

Nubian Heritage Coconut & Papaya Bath Bombs - THESE SMELL INCREDIBLE! Holy crap... Like, WHOA. These smell so amazing. I typically do not like scents (you can read more about my aversion to smells HERE) but these?! I want to shove them up my nose just so I can keep smelling theses babies all DAY!

Acure Pore Clarifying Red Clay Mask - I gave this to my little sister because I have super dry skin and clay can be overly drying to the skin so I won't take the chance.

Vichy Pore Purifying Clay Mask - ^ read above.  However, the packaging on the full size products is beautiful so I would definitely give the hydrating mask a-go.

Nexxus Vital 8-in-1 Hair Mask - I am SO EXCITED to try this! I have fine hair so it's rarely "dry" to the touch but considering it is literally white (I love bleach), it could definitely use some extra moisturizing and nourishing love!

Nexus Therappe Shampoo & Conditioner - while I don't wash my hair very often, I am looking forward to using this at least once a week to see if it helps moisturize and strengthen my damaged hair!

Next up: Walmart!

Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair with Liquid Keratin Shampoo & Conditioner - I first saw this on Tati's (@GlamLifeGuru) Youtube so I am excited to try this.  As stated, anything moisturizing is good for my [very bleached] hair.

Dove Advanced Care Deoderant in Cool Essentials - I have used this before and it's only okay.  Great for traveling because of the size, smells very fresh, but it doesn't make me feel dry and stank-free all day.

John Frieda's Frize-Ease Daily Nourishment Conditioner - I used this in high school and distinctly remember not liking it so I'll be passing it on to my little sister.  It has a high dimethicone (silicone) content, which creates a seal over the hair.  Great for curly hair, hence the frizz control, but for thin hair like mine, this is a no-go.

Biore Baking Soda Face Cleanser - as well as this... I am happy with my current regimen that keeps my texture and redness at bay so I will not be experimenting.

Colgate Radiant Optic White Toothpaste - the BEST whitening toothpaste, hands down. SO pumped to get this travel size tube in my box!

And the winner is...

But why?

While these two were SO CLOSE, it was ultimately the Soap & Glory Body Polish and Wet n Wild Liquid Lipstick that tipped the scale towards Target for me personally. Yes, this box is $2 more than Walmart's Box, but I feel like the quality and number of products in the Target box was greater than only two additional dollars.  I also felt that Target's selection of products was more diverse than Walmart, too,  Therefore, I declare Target as the May Beauty Box Winner!

** Did you know about these subscription services?! Are you going to sign up for one? Do you agree with the winner of this battle?! Leave it in the comments below! XOXO **
