Monday (B)RUSH Hour - My Favorite Brushes, Part 1 (Face)

I am convinced that there are more brushes available out there than actual makeup, but with just as diverse a price tag range, which is overwhelming!  Especially because I think most people associate higher price tags with higher quality and that's simply not true in the case of brushes.  More importantly, crappy brushes usually equal crappy application, even with the most beautiful, high quality makeup. But never fret lovlies, I am here to take the guess work out of brush buying!

For the next few weeks, to hopefully make that Monday commute a little less painful, I bring you (B)RUSH HOUR, every Monday night at 530p. Tonight, for the first part of the series, I will be sharing with you my favorite FACE brushes! I've included both high-end and drugstore brushes and while I want to tell you, I did it to accommodate every budget... the truth is that these are truly the tools I reach for the most; I honestly use them almost every single day! I have included price, where to get them, and what I use them for.

Morphe Brushes M439
1. Morphe Brushes E523 ($14.99) - this is the best contour brush, especially for beginners! The shape of the brush allows you to pick up the perfect amount of product with the long brushes down the center, while the gradually shorter bristles help to blend out any harsh edges flawlessly.  It's fool-proof, honestly.

2. Morphe Brushes M439 ($13.99) - I don't know about you but I LOVE stick foundations: they're quick and easy when you're trying to get ready quickly and this foundation brush blends any stick foundation out seamlessly.  If you're not using Morphe Brushes, you're doing it wrong. I promise.

L'Oreal Blender/Sponge
3. L'Oreal Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender ($7.99) - I'm unsure why the name is so pretentious and long because this is just a beauty sponge but it is definitely the best one available at the drug store! It is also so affordable. I use this for any liquid or cream products: foundation, concealer, highlight, contour, and bronzer. The shape of the sponge makes it so versatile!

4. Real Techniques Stippling Brush ($9.99) - This is the perfect bronzer brush because it distributes product lightly and evenly with no harsh lines. It is also small enough that it keeps the product exactly where you want it (the perimeter of your face).

Kat Von D
5. Luxie Cruelty-Free Blush Brush ($18) - you guys know how I feel about blush (if not, click HERE to get caught up to speed) but this blush brush makes applying blush so EASY, no matter how pigmented! You can't over-do it or pack on too much product right away by accident, which I obviously love.

6. Kat Von D Lock-it Precision Powder Brush ($32) - I know this is an expensive brush, I am working on find a dupe for it, but as of right now, this is truly the best under-eye setting powder brush because it fits right up under your lashes and into the inner corner of your eye, no problem. It is SO SOFT but luckily, it is cruelty-free and vegan, too!

7. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brush #23 ($25) - another expensive one but LISTEN when I tell you this highlighter brush is hands down the greatest. The shape of these tapered, natural hairs are magic for applying highlight perfectly, every single time, regardless of formula.

** Would you like to see a drugstore-only /all under $10 brush collection in this series? If so, leave it in the comments below and I'll get to work! XOXO **
