First Impressions Friday: Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter

Ladies and Gentlemen, stop what you are doing and LISTEN UP! I may or may not have found THE HOLY GRAIL of highlighters... Yes, it is the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in "Dew You." It is a beautiful, soft peachy-champagne color that would be stunning on ANY skin tone and the gel-like consistency would flatter any skin type: textured, dry, oily, large pores, etc.

And the PACKAGING?! Be still my beating heart! I love anything white and metallic, so you can imagine this was right up my alley... and then you add the frosted glass?! Perfection.

When this product initially launched, I was unsure about it - especially after the train wreck that was the Coconut Setting Mist (click HERE to read about that disaster).  Also, I had never used a cream highlight, much less a gel, prior to this so I was hesitant about spending $44 on something I wasn't sure about.  However, I had faith it would function similar to the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops, which I absolutely love (especially for mixing into my foundation for an extra glowy appearance).  Surprisingly, I love the Coconut Dew Drop Gel Highlighter EVEN MORE! It is far less metallic than the Cover FX drops, but I love that about it because it looks more natural as a highlighter. Also, the gel-like consistency does not emphasize the texture on my cheeks and feels ultra-hydrating but not at all greasy.  It looks FLAWLESS!

In this picture, I am wearing the Marc Jacobs Dew
Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter on my cheekbones,
the tip of my nose, above my brows, and on temples.
I haven't mixed it into my foundation yet but I imagine it would add the perfect amount of beautiful glow.  I also like this highlighter because it is buildable.  One layer is more on the natural side but if you want a blinding highlight, you could layer this up to be super BLING.

The only downside to this incredible product is that it is part of the Marc Jacobs Summer 2017 Limited Edition Collection.  I am hoping that due to its popularity, they will bring it back as a permanent product (hint hint, Marc Jacobs, HOOK YA GIRL UP PLEASE!).

Hats off to you, Marc Jacobs. Job well done.

  1. I took the smell of Marc Jacobs Decadence and Daisy, the fragrance is quite amazing. I bought both of them for my wife and she really liked it. I am actually a fan of Marc Jacobs Perfumes. Thanks for sharing this post.
