Disclaimer: Sorry if this offends anyone - just trying to keep it real (and mildly funny) around here
1. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in "Prismatic Amethyst" - listen, I was HYPED for this product! I ADORE Becca products, purple is my favorite color, and duochrome anything makes me tingle. So one would think this product would be just shy of magic for me but unfortunately, it fell flat. For one, it is PINK, not purple and two, it blends out into almost nothing on the skin. Instead of blinding someone with my glow, it was more like "Um excuse me ma'am, I think you have a little shmear of something there on your cheek." PASS.
2. ABH + Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit - I may be the only person on planet Earth who wasn't dying over this product. Truth be told, it is INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL in person: the sparkly pink packaging had me looking like the heart eye emoji in the flesh! Also, the colors are unlike any other highlighting palette I have ever seen. "But Jordan, what's the problem then?" I'm glad you asked! When I applied it to my cheek, it was a sheer wash of glitter. For some people, that is the perfect highlight. For me, because I prefer more of a natural, lit-from-within glow, this did not do it for me...
Which brings me to my next product:
3. Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in "Smoldering Satin" - HOLY GLITTERFEST BATMAN! I bought this in two colors - "Retro Rose Gold" I would recommend by screaming from the roof tops all day long - but Smoldering Satin? No. Just no. When I tried to blend this onto my lid, the pretty taupe-y base disappeared and I was left with what looked like I had mistakenly bumped into a child's silver-glitter-infested art project... with my face.
5. Estee Edit Fluid Metal Eyeshadow in "Party of 1" - while the name of it is typically my preference, it didn't work for me. I wanted to love it, the color is GORGEOUS but it wasn't as opaque as I had hoped so sadly, I returned it.
6. Sol De Janiero Brazillian Kiss Lip Butter (not pictured) - If you've enjoyed the Bum Bum Cream from this company than you should already expect that this smells of a tropical island, being fed grapes and fanned by a shirtless, very muscular male figure ... but that's about where the fantasy ends. It didn't hydrate or heal my lips - and for $18 I feel like it should do at least that - and maybe some chores around the house, my gosh. My $5 B&BW Chapstick will suffice.
8. Too Faced Hangover RX Primer - A cult-favorite: this smells amazing, has kick-butt ingredients, and works well if you have dehydrated skin, such as myself. The problem is that there are a lot of primers on the market that will do more than just quench your skin's thirst, probably for a fraction of the cost. I didn't feel like it kept my makeup for an extended period of time or smoothed the appearance of my skin, as it claims to.
